1. Respect and Professionalism

  • Discrimination, harassment, bullying, or any form of disrespectful behavior based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, or any other characteristic will not be tolerated.

  • Participants should communicate in a courteous and constructive manner, resolving conflicts calmly and respectfully.

2. Safety

  • Safety is paramount. Participants must adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols provided by the theatre management, including those related to stagecraft, set construction, use of equipment, and emergency procedures.

  • Any concerns regarding safety hazards or risks should be promptly reported to the appropriate personnel.

  • Minors (ages 18 and under with no exception) and staff are not permitted to communicate with each other over social media or personal telephone connections. This includes texting, calling, sharing photos, etc. Parents and guardians will be responsible for maintaining communications on behalf of minors involved in any activities.

3. Collaboration

  • Theatre is a collaborative art form. Participants must work together harmoniously, valuing each other's contributions and ideas.

  • Directors, designers, and other creative personnel should foster an environment where input and feedback are encouraged, and decisions are made collaboratively whenever possible.

4. Rehearsal and Performance Etiquette

  • Participants are expected to arrive on time and prepared for rehearsals and performances, including knowing their lines, cues, and blocking.

  • Cell phones and other electronic devices should be silenced and stored away during rehearsals and performances, except when necessary for production-related tasks.

  • Participants should refrain from disruptive behavior, such as talking loudly, using inappropriate language, or engaging in activities unrelated to the production.

5. Costume, Makeup, and Prop Usage

  • Respect the property of the theatre, including costumes, makeup supplies, and props. Any damage or misuse of these items should be reported immediately.

  • Participants should adhere to costume and makeup requirements specified by the production team, including maintaining cleanliness and returning items promptly after use.

6. Audience Interaction

  • Participants must conduct themselves professionally when interacting with audience members before, during, and after performances.

  • Any feedback or criticism from audience members should be accepted graciously and used constructively to improve future performances.

7. Alcohol and Substance Use

  • Consumption of alcohol or illegal substances is strictly prohibited on theatre premises, except in designated areas and under appropriate circumstances, in accordance with local laws and regulations.

8. Dress Code

  • Participants should adhere to any dress code specified by the production team or theatre management, ensuring that attire is appropriate for rehearsals, performances, and any related events.

9. Confidentiality

  • Participants must respect the confidentiality of production-related information, including casting decisions, script revisions, and other sensitive matters.

  • Unauthorized sharing of such information, including on social media platforms, is strictly prohibited.

10. Compliance with Policies and Regulations

  • Participants are expected to comply with all theatre policies, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including those related to health and safety, equal opportunity, and copyright.

  • Failure to comply with these policies may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal from the production or expulsion from the theatre.

Reporting Violations

  • Any violations of this code of conduct should be reported promptly to the appropriate personnel, such as the production manager, director, or theatre management.

  • Reports will be handled confidentially and investigated thoroughly, with appropriate action taken to address the situation and prevent future occurrences.
